7Berkeh – Raheleh Bahador: From the early hours of morning on February 28th, 2026, a wide illegal invasion to Iran is launched by the US and Israel in which, according to the Red Cresent Society of Iran on Monday, March 2nd, “more than 560 people –including civilians– are killed and hundreds of others are injured in 131 cities so far”.
In this war, contrary to the 12-day war in June 2025, the south of Iran and Fars province is also under heavy air strikes. In the sixth day of war, besides the undeclared casualties in military sites, many civilians are killed in urban places. Gerash and the south of Fars was no exception, with a share of at least 18 children dead in the attacks in two cases: two students from Lab-Eshkan, a small village in the west of Gerash, killed in Minab school; and 16 teenager sports-girls in Lamerd in a sport salon.
Two Kids from Lab-Eshkan Among the Student Victims in Minab
In the first case and in an uncivilized and inhuman attack on the first day of this invasion on February 28th, an elementary school called “Shajareh-Tayebeh” in Minab in Hormozgan Province was targeted around 11:00 a.m.; while innocent kids were engaged with learning in educational hours. In this wild attack, 165 people including students and members of school staff were killed.
Among the martyrs were Amir-Mohammad and Helma Qasemi, two sibling students from Lab-Eshkan, a small village with only 229 families, located in the west of Gerash. Helma, who was only ten years old, was a 4th grade student, and the eight-year-old Amir Mohammad was a 2nd grade student. The family lived in Minab due to the father’s job. After a number of ceremonies held in Minab and Gerash, the bodies of the two kids were eventually transferred to and buried in their village, Lab-Eshkan, on March 3rd.

In this attack, a sport arena, two houses and a hall beside a school were targeted in the city.
